How to Improve Your Sleep

Sleep is a huge part of our health. Not getting enough sleep can cause weight gain, mood swings, hormone imbalances, lack of energy, etc. Today I am sharing recent finds that help me sleep better!

1. Calm magnesium supplement

2. Blue light blocking glasses
My boyfriend's mom gave me blue light blocking glasses for Christmas and I'm obsessed! I wear them while I'm watching a movie or on my phone before I go to bed. I truly believe that they have helped me sleep! I am not sure what kind I received; however, click here to view a pair on Amazon.

3. Exercise
I truly think exercise helps me get good sleep. Try to go on long walks, hikes, lift weights, etc.

4. Light a candle
I love candles!! I think candles help make an environment calming and peaceful. I buy Bath & Body Works candles and love any scent that is floral!

5. Apply chapstick before you go to bed. There's nothing worse than when you wake up in the middle of the night and your lips feel like they are on fire. I apply chapstick before I go to bed and it helps so much!

6.  Get an essential oil diffuser
I love putting lavender oil in my diffuser at night to calm me down! Plus, it makes the room smell wonderful.

7. If you sleep somewhere where it is noisy at night (like a dorm room) get a sound machine! Many sound machines play white noise which helps me go to sleep quickly.

Getting the right amount of sleep can be your first step on your health journey! People should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep.
